What's in a type?

Blog post description.

2/24/20261 min read

There are different ways throughout history that people have 'typed' or transferred letters onto another surface. They are:

  • Carving by hand with paints, inks, or tools

  • Handwriting by pen, pencil, or other colored writing tool

  • Typesetting with metal or wood on a stick

  • Letter pressing using ink to transfer from raised surface to paper

  • Typography using computers with software that is vector or raster image/text/graphic based

  • Lettering using chalk, crayons, colored pens or markers

Which ways have you used?
